An ECC renewal application is being launched to permit the continuation of operations of the existing and operational Dimension Stone Processing Facility in Karibib, as well as the associated reclamation/ rehabilitation of an existing abandoned borrow pit within the Karibib Townlands. The reclamation and rehabilitation of the abandoned borrow pit shall be implemented using a combination of marble and granite dust/ sludge and natural soils . The current ECC is due to expire on 26 April 2022. An ECC renewal is therefore being launched to enable the current operations to continue. As part of this ECC renewal application, amendments (both additions and deletions) to the Dimension Stone Processing Facility and Associated operations shall be considered, the associated impacts assessed, and suitable impact management measures developed.
