Title:

APP-003325: Renewal of the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the proposed construction and operations of a new fuel service station on Erf 767 Goreangab, Katutura, Windhoek, Khomas Region

Publication Year:
2021
Abstract:

Small business entrepreneurs in the northern suburbs have historically struggled to legally establish businesses. However, the suburb of Goreangab and Eveline Street in particular, has evolved into a natural business location accommodating a variety of traders. Liongate Investments cc hereinafter referred to as the proponent, has identified an opportunity to develop a fuel service station on Erf 767, Goreangab, Katutura. In terms of the Environmental Management Act 7 of 2007 (Government Notice No. 29), certain activities may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). This activity is included in the above-mentioned list. It is against this background that Liongate Investments applied for and obtained an ECC for this facility. The ECC is valid for a period of three (3) years and is approaching the date of expiry (24 January 2022). Liongate Investments has thus appointed Environam Consultants Trading (ECT) to apply for the renewal of the ECC on its behalf.
