Abstract:

The application is for a renewal of the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the transportation of Tantalite Ore from Umeis Farm known as Namibia Tantalite Mine which is owned and operated by African Tantalum (Pty) Ltd. The Mine is located approximately 90 km south of Karasburg in the Warmbad Area. The initial Environmental Clearance Certificate was issued on 23 April 2018 for a period of three (3) years and will be ending on 23 April 2021. The proponent has indicated their willingness to continue mining and transportation of Tantalite Ore to their various clients around the world using various entry points in Namibia such as the Hosea Kutako International Air Port, Walvis Bay Port, Luderitz Port as well as through Ariamsvlei Border Post.
