The Kalahari Purple-glossed Snake (Amblyodipsas ventrimaculata) is a fossorial species that was thought to favour loose soil in the moist regions of the Kalahari outside of South African borders. Observation records of this species exist from Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
