Abstract:
Progress with revision of the genus Lycophidion is summarised. There appear to be 15 or 16 species and a total of 21 forms. On the basis of a phenetic analysis, four species groups are recognised, the most primitive being the L. irroratum group including four forest species, while the most advanced and successful is the L. capense group inhabiting savannas.
