The VIIRS 375 m active fire data are once again available in FIRMS. The underlying issue that caused the spurious fire data has not yet been resolved but the FIRMS - VIIRS team have developed a workaround which will enable us to start distributing the data again. The workaround uses a threshold to remove data granules with excessive fire counts. In the unlikely event that you notice rows of fires which look unusual, we recommend you disregard them. If you have any questions or concerns, please email support@earthdata.nasa.gov with FIRMS in the subject line. In an effort to standardize VIIRS file names, the short name for VIIRS NRT 375 m product has been changed from VNP14IMGT to VNP14IMGTDL_NRT.
