Abstract:
The Den and its Bone/Horn Assemblage The bones and horns described here were collected from one of four hyaena breeding dens some 0, 5-3, 0 km apart on the rugged banks and side ravines of the seasonally dry Kuiseb River near Natab. This site is about 10 km east (upriver) of the Namib Research Institute at Gobabeb (23 34'S; 15 03E) in the Namib-Naukluft Park of South West Africa/Namibia. The dens were occupied for varying periods of time by a group of six spotted hyaenas.
