Abstract: Brood parasitism of the Steel - blue Whydah (Vidua hypocherina). In southern Kenya (Athi River District, Rift Valley) eggs of the Steel - blue Whydah were found in the nests of the East African subspecies of the Black - cheecked Waxbill (Brunhilda erythronotos delamerei) and the Pink - bellied Black- cheeked Waxbill (Brunhilda charmosyna) and their species identity proved by rearing the young under Bengalese Finches.
