It is generally accepted that wind farms have the potential to impact upon birds both directly and indirectly, these impacts occur in three broad categories: Displacement & disturbance; Habitat loss and & fragmentation; Direct mortality. The Endangered Wildlife Trust - Wildlife & Energy Programme (EWT-WEP) and BirdLife South Africa (BLSA) are well positioned to drive a response to the above concerns, as in combination, we have extensive experience interacting with the energy industry, and extensive ornithological expertise.
