This Strategic Plan (SP) represents the Ministry of Environment and Tourism's (MET's) vision of conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, promotion of natural resource based livelihoods, environmental management and tourism development. It describes MET's main strategic initiatives for the period 2007/8 to 2011/2 and is a result of collaborative efforts of the MET and major stakeholders. It is organised in nine chapters. Chapter 1 to 3 provide the background to the environment and tourism sectors in Namibia and a short review of their performance, and describe the planning process of the SP.
