Abstract:

The Tenebrioid species collected by the entomological expeditions of the Museum of Natural History of the Humboldt University, Berlin, to Namibia in the years 1992‐1998 are listed, one new genus and 12 new species are described and figured: Epairopsis deckerti n. sp., Vieta deckerti n. sp., Planostibes goellnerae n. sp., Prodilamus uhligi n. sp., Cheirodes (Spinanemia) uhligi n. sp., Lyphia moraguesi n. sp., Bremerus n. gen. frankkochi n. sp., Nicandra (Heteronicandra) goellnerae n. sp., Cossyphodes uhligi n. sp., Oplocheirus frankkochi n. sp., Paramarygmus (Meracanthoides) bremeri n. sp. et Praeugena devylderorum n. sp. Trachynotidus damarinus Péringuey (1904) is transferred to the genus Somaticus Hope(1840). The lectotypes and paralectotypes of Pogonobasis verrucosa Erichson (1843) and of Epairops fragilis, Micrantereus longipes and Oplocheirus afer, described by Fåhraeus 1870 from Caffraria, are designated. Lectotypes of some species described by Mäklin from Africa are designated: Strongylium aeratum Mäklin, 1864 and Strongylium purpuripennisMäklin, 1864 (= S. castaneipennis Mäklin, 1864 syn. n. et = Strongylium wahlbergi Mäklin, 1864. syn. n.).
