Reeecap 2.1: Renewable energy baseline study
A baseline survey of renewable energy use was conducted in June and July 2007, with the objective of assessing the prevalence and use of renewable energy technologies amongst a select sample of Namibian rural and peri-urban households. Rather than only considering renewable energy technologies though, the survey also assessed the most prevalent energy sources used, and the monthly expenditure incurred by rural and periurban households in select localities in Namibia. The survey also gathered data on the most common services used by unelectrified households, and the associated costs for these services.
