Title:

Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area Master Integrated Development Plan 2015 - 2020

Publication Year:
2014
Abstract:

This is the Master Integrated Development Plan for the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA). The Plan highlights the global relevance of transfrontier conservation areas in their ability to promote and maintain large-scale ecological processes. As the largest of its kind, the KAZA TFCA is an extraordinary example of international conservation cooperation. Five governments have shown their commitment and enthusiasm in developing their own National Integrated Development Plans, and in supporting the development of this five-year Master Integrated Development Plan (MIDP). By adopting such a unified approach, KAZA TFCA's many stakeholders have the best chance of adapting to climate change, of linking protected areas, and of addressing the many challenges posed by incompatible land use and human encroachment.
