Abstract:

The area investigated lies south of 23'S latitude and west of longitude 15" 30' E. The southern and western boundaries are the dune fields on the left bank of the Kuiseb river. Photogeology on a 1:36 000 scale preceded field work in 1974, 1975 and 1976. The aim of the present mapping was to extend the detailed coverage of economically promising parts of South West Africa. A total area of approximately 5000 km2 has been investigated.
