Palaeolithic archaeology of the central Namib Desert a preliminary survey of chronology, typology and site location
Lack of previous systematic work on central Namib archaeology requires the problems of methodology and approach to be discussed in some detail, together with full publication of the extensive series of artefact drawings which make the terms used in Namibian typology more easily explainable. Keywords: Namibia, Namib Desert, Gobabeb, Kuiseb River, desert environment, Topnaar community, indigenous people, endemic plants, archaeology, artefacts, Acanthosicyos horrida, Oryx gazella, hunter-gatherer, Stone Age culture, early man, desert adaptation.
