Title:

Climate and weather factors modulating river flows in southern Angola

Publication Year:

Abstract:

River run-off is a process by which large-scale water supplies are recharged and maintained for use by nations, cities and communities. In southern Africa significant soil moisture and run-off is limited to the Angolan highlands, Zambezi valley, northern Mozambique and the southeast coast of South Africa. For a country like Namibia, this poses severe constraints on dvelopment, as local replenishment of water resources is infrequent.
