The study was part of the ideas competition "Integrated Water Resources Management" for the preparation of projects within the funding focus "Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) including the necessary technology and know-how transfers" by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, Germany. Overall aim of the preliminary study was to analyse potentials and hinderances for further development of an integrated management of water resources and their linkages to other natural resources like land and energy.
