Global warming and land reform are amongst the issues that have pushed rangeland degradation in Namibia to the fore once again. It should be realised that the application of realistic grazing capacities (GC) holds the key to sustainable rangeland utilisation. A realistic grazing capacity map could play a major role in aiding policy makers towards informed and responsible decisions regarding land reform issues.
