Birds and electricity transmission lines in South West Africa/Namibia
Six raptor and three passerine species breed on transmission towers. During a helicopter survey of 1 447km of lines only one collision victim, a Secretary Bird, was found. Flash-overs may accur from the excreta of piscivorous birds.
