Abstract: Namibia has a wide range of landscapes and the classification provided in the Atlas of Namibia is adopted by way of introduction to their nature and diversity. This is followed by a description of three main landscape regions: the Namib Desert, the Kalahari Desert, and the Great Escarpment. Finally, the chapter includes a regional analysis of the river systems and the coastline of Namibia, with feature boxes on two iconic landscapes, the Fish River Canyon and Sandwich Harbour.
