231004002221: The application to renew the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation and maintenance of Ruacana Eha Lodge in Omusati
The ECC is for the operation and maintenance of Ruacana Eha Lodge. Under the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2012), the activity described as "Tourism development activities" requires an Environmental Clearance Certificate. In 2020 NamPower obtained the Environmental Clearance Certificate for the operation and maintenance of Ruacana Eha Lodge. NamPower would therefore like to apply for the renewal of the ECC for the Kokerboom Transmission Station in order to comply with the Environmental Management Act (Act 7 of 2007) and its regulations. The Ruacana Eha Lodge is owned and operated by NamPower.
