Abstract:

Enersense Energy Namibia (Pty) Ltd is submitting this application for an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC), to conduct a feasibility investigation and pilot study for their proposed long-term development of Africa’s first Green Hydrogen Village, that aims to operate on a semi-industrial scale. The proposed project is made up of the following components: Solar PV Power Plant for off-grid power generation (phase 1 and 2 - pilot study) Green Scheme Agricultural Production Facility. Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia Production Facility. A Wind Mast Campaign (establishment of two (2) wind masts). Housing, Eco-lodge, Warehousing, Training and Research Facilities. Supporting Infrastructure (fencing etc.). Once project feasibility has been proven, the project aims to commercialize the electricity generated from the PV Plant through the on-grid connection to the NamPower substation located in Uis Settlement, which will boost the local, regional and national power supply.
