Abstract:

Mangrove (PTY) Ltd. proposes to undertake Exploration activities on EPL 7799. Activities associated with exploration are listed on the EIA may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certification. Year 1 Reconnaissance including Geological Mapping and landowner’s engagement; Year 2 Geochemical Sampling Campaign and Sample analysis; Year 3 Exploration drilling program including Rehabilitation; Mangrove (PTY) Ltd., proposes to undertake Exploration activities for Base and Rare Metals, Industrial Minerals, Non-Nuclear Fuel Minerals, Nuclear Fuel Minerals and Precious Metals on EPL 7799. Activities associated with exploration are a listed Activities that may not be undertaken without an ECC issued by the regulating authority MEFT as per the Environmental Management Act No. 7. of 2007. Mangrove has appointed Marvin Environmental Projects Consultants CC to undertake the EIA process as per EIA regulations. The resultant of the EIA will produce a Scoping (including Assessment) and Environmental Management Plan report. The following presents the proposed Exploration campaign: Year 1 Reconnaissance including Geological Mapping and landowner’s engagement; Year 2 Geochemical Sampling Campaign and Sample analysis; Year 3 Exploration drilling program including Rehabilitation; The ECC will enable the proponent (Mangrove) to implement the proposed project in a sustainable manner without compromising the state of the existing environment.
