Fresh Fruit Farming (PTY) LTD obtained Portions 811, 814 and 815 of Farm Stampried 132 to establish a poultry production facility. The facility has four chicken coops that produce 5 000 broiler chicks per coop per cycle, furthermore there are 6 200 layer hens. This is able to contribute to food security but also has the added advantage of creating several job opportunities. While operations on site have commenced Freshfruit Farming (PTY) LTD has been advised to obtain an ECC in compliance with the legal requirements. The proponent appointed Environam Consultants Trading cc (ECT) to undertake the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in order to obtain an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the activity from the Office of the Environmental Commissioner in the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT).
