Abstract:

The Environmental Clearance Cetificate renewal is for: Township establishment on Erf 917, Aranos, associated with the creation of streets and other urban infrastructure, as well as the closure of a portion of Erf 187, Rooiduin (POS) and use for purpose of a public road. Activity 1(b) Energy Generation, Transmission and Storage Activities - The transmission of electricity. Activity 4 Forestry Activities - Other related activity that requires authorisation in terms of the Forest Act, No. 2001. Activity 5.2 Land Use and Development Activities - Establishment of Land Resettlement Scheme. Activity 10.1(a) Infrastructure - The construction of water bulk supply pipelines. Activity 10.1(b) Infrastructure - The construction of public roads. 2.1 Title of Activity - closure of a portion of Erf 187, Rooiduin (Open Space) (Aranos) and Township Establishment of Aranos Extension 7 (at Erf 917, Aranos). 2.2 Location of Activity - Erf 187, Rooiduin and Erf 917, Aranos is located to the west of the larger Aranos, as indicated by the attached locality map. 2.3 Nature of Activity - The activities intended are associated with the construction of urban infrastructure (i.e. electricity lines; water pipelines; and sewer lines) as well as the creation of public streets, and then the closure of a public open space for purpose of a public road. 2.4 Scale and Scope of the Activity - Development of a township (70 erven), as well as the extend of the portion of the public open space (Erf 187) used for a public road. Due to financial constraints, the development has not yet commenced.
