Johannes Malume Gariseb (The Proponent) has been granted with Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) No. 7258 by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). The tenure of the licence is from 15 May 2019.The covered area is prospective for four (4) groups of commodities, upon which detailed prospecting and exploration activities will be conducted. The Proponent plans to conduct prospecting and exploration activities leading to the estimation and delineation of the target resource. Prospecting and exploration form part of the listed activities that may not be undertaken without an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). Thus, the EPL 7258 are subjected to a Clearance Certificate to be issued by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) upon submission of an Environmental Assessment Report (EAR) and draft Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to both MET and MME.
