The Environmental Clearance Certificate is for the construction and operation of the WT Fuel Center (Truck Port) in Katima Mulilo. The site area is located on the premises of Roads Contractor Company (RCC) in Katima Mulilo. The site has previously been used by RCC to fill up their construction machinery and as a result, there is already an underground diesel tank. The tank has a capacity of 82000 Litres and the current proponent will make use of the same tank. Maintenance and/or due diligence will be done on the existing underground diesel tank for any possible leakages (given that the tank has been in existence for over the years) prior to the operation of the Truck Port. The maintenance and/or due diligence report will be attached as an annexure to the Environmental Assessment Report for MET:DEA's approval. The proponent further intends to erect temporary ablution facilities for the employees and customers.
