The main objective with the study is to create a reliable hydrological model of both the timing, volume and spatial extent of the hydrological cycle in the Okavango river. A more comprehensive study of processes driving the hydrological cycle over southern Africa is much needed to understand and predict the region's sensitivity to and impact upon regional changes in climate and precipitation.
