A detailed check-list, with references to genera and species, is presented of the Zygoptera known in the region south of the Limpopo River, and including South West Africa/Namibia. The region reviewed here is of particular interest for several reasons: there is a remarkable number of species descriptionbed from the region; there are relict Gondwana elements; the number of species of Zygoptera is unusually close to that of the Anisoptera.
