Abstract:
A nematode of the genus Pharyngodon was found in 94.4% of a sample of 226 Agama aculeata aculeata adults, but in only 1.2% of a sample of 208 Agama planiceps planiceps adults. The nematode occurred predominantly in the stomach of these lizards, with only a few found in the intestine. A second nematode of the genus Abbreviata was found in 88.5% of the A. a. aculeata sample and in 98.4% of the A. p. planiceps sample. This nematode predominated in the intestine of these lizards, with only a few occurring in the stomach.
