Abstract:
In: Miscellaneous taxonomic notes on African birds XXVII. Taxonomic study, including extra-limital races. Two forms occur in Botswana: Hirundo abyssinica unitatis in eastern Botswana (north to Francistown) which breeds mainly September - February / March, and H. a. ampliformis, a new subspecies described by the author. Its range is imperfectly known, it occurs in Ngamiland, and the indications are that it is a dry-season breeder.
