The discovery of the Wood Pipit in the Kavango region of northeastern south west Africa extends the established range further to the south - west than before. Range considedered to include Okavango River in Northwestern Botswana. Notes two other largish Anthus spp. as occuring sympatrically with A. Similis and nyassae (subsp. nov.).
