Agristats. Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry
The Directorate of Planning is situated within the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry and consists of two divisions, namely: Division of Agricultural Planning (DAP) and Division of Cooperative Development (DCD). DAP has three sub-divisions, Policy and Planning, Marketing and Statistics and Early Warning. The aim of the Statistics and Early Warning sub-division is to provide policy/decision makers with up-to date information on agricultural production trends and prospects. The sub-division is divided into the Early Warning Unit and the Statistics unit. The Statistics unit collects agricultural statistics from both line ministries and non-governmental organizations. For the production of agricultural statistics the Directorate of Planning (DoP) within the MAWF collaborates with the Central Bureau of Statistics the Directorate of Planning Commission (NPC).
