In 2008, the IECN developed a prototype toolkit on Climate Change Adaptation for the Omusati region. The community planning tools contained within the prototype toolkit were tested in the communities by Community-based Organizations and this resulted in the demand of replicating such tools for all other regions in Namibia and producing them in the local vernacular. Thus the Compilation of Climate Change Adaptation Information Toolkits came about.
