Abstract:

The Agama aculeata aculeate and Agama planiceps planiceps males were reproductively active during summer, the rainy season. In both species testicular recrudescence commenced in July and testicular regression in February. By October their testes were fully active. The significant decrease in mass of their abdominal fat bodies and liver during breeding suggests the utilization of these energy reserves at this time. Keywords: Agamidae, reproduction, males, abdominal fat bodies, liver, Namibia.
