Abstract:
The Naukluft nappe complex is exposed approximately 50 km south of the present southern margin of the late Precambrian to early Palaeozoic Damara Orogen. This nappe complex overlies the autochthonous Nama beds which belong to a platform area adjacent to the Damara mobile belt. The total displacement from the NW to the SE amounts to 50-80 km. The base of Naukluft Nappes is formed by a dolomite horizon ranging in thickness between zero and about 30 m.
