A new gekkonid species, Afroedura hawequensis, is descriptionbed from the south-western Cape (South Africa). The three species groups recognized in the genus are discussed. Keywords: Afroedura hawequensis, Gekkonid species, Reptilia: Gekkonidae, South-western Cape.
