The Steppe Eagle Aquilla nipalensis and other termite-eating raptors in South West Africa
Second verified occurrence of the Steppe Eagle in Namibia. In large mixed flocks, with kites and kestrels, they fed almost exclusively on termites, following good rains. Steppe Eagles Aquilla nipalensis orientalis were recorded in small groups in the karibib district in January - February 1971.
