Conservation Status: Endangered; Southern African Range: Namibia, Botswana, northern South Africa, Zimbabwe; Area of Occupancy: 258,400 km2; Population Estimate: Approximately 1,130 pairs; up to 3,000 birds; Population Trend: 50% decline in last three generations; Habitat: Mopane, Kalahari and semiarid savannah woodlands; Threats: Poisons, declining prey base, human disturbance at nests.
