The proposed project involves the construction of a telecommunication Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower at Oshetu / Khaibasen as part of PowerCom (Pty) Ltd’s initiative to improve telecommunication infrastructure and enhance network connectivity across Namibia. The development aims to strengthen communication services, improve network coverage, and support socio-economic development within Okahandja and surrounding communities. In accordance with the Environmental Management Act (No. 7 of 2007) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations of 2012, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process is being undertaken to identify and assess potential environmental and social impacts associated with the proposed development and to develop appropriate mitigation measures through an Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
