Analysis based on data on location of schools from the Ministry of Basic Education and Culture (Fig 6.26) and the

compilation:

population map (Figure 6.01). A buffer of 5 km was created around all schools offering Grade 1 and the percentage of

people per region falling within the buffered areas was calculated.
