Notes on data, analysis and

Information on birds was derived from an analysis of records collected by the Southern African Bird Atlas Project. The

compilation:

data were amended to include the recently identified Barlow's lark. A grid file (at 5km cell size) was created from point

data (i.e.centroids of QDS) using a kriging interpolator. The shapefile was created from the grid file once suitable class

intervals were identified. 14 species of birds are considered to be endemic to Namibia (with 90% or more of their range in Namibia).
