Based on one year of observations in 1984 using satellite imagery. The results were adjusted for the Atlas because the

compilation:

satellite images do not provide a distinction between low cloud and fog. The adjustments used surface observations

collected from several weather stations. Fog is recorded when visibility on the ground is reduced to 1,000 m or less. The

file contains data for 21 stations summarised by month.
